D6 - Dharamshala Day 7
Yesterday’s reflection on the nightout showed a great deal of maturity in the young kids. The talent show that followed was a fun affair of singing, playing the guitar, dancing & competing on push ups.
Kids woke up to music & came out of their tents dancing this morning! They packed their bags, cleaned up their tents & had breakfast. The group has bonded well & had already started making plans to meet each other once back home. After breakfast, they played a high energy YPL (Youreka Premiere League) & then did their closing ceremonies with sharing & appreciation. They had an early lunch & have started on their homeward journey. We hope you will listen to their stories & continue their regular exposure to nature & the outdoors. Research shows that nature is essential for the physical, emotional & mental well being of the children; apart from that, research is also showing that free play in the outdoors is very important in building life skills like problem solving, interpersonal relationships & conflict resolution.

D6 - Dharamshala Day 6
The group reached Khaniara in the afternoon yesterday & were welcomed by the rains. The grounds & firewood were wet due to on & off rains through the day. The team took a call to return to camp although the kids were rather disappointed as they were looking forward to the challenges. They learnt instead, of adapting to changing circumstances.
The morning was sunny & the group hiked up to Khaniara through the tea gardens & spent a fun time in the stream. They returned by lunchtime. Post lunch they will reflect on the night out & then plan & prepare for the talent show tonight! Kids are doing great!

D6 - Dharamshala Day 5
Both the groups reached Mana at 2.45pm yesterday afternoon. They experienced rain for a bit during their trek which they took in their stride. They pitched their tents & then set about building the fire & cooking dinner.
Kids woke up this morning, had breakfast & wound up their camp. Their challenge level has been increased for today. They will make their way to their next camping spot at Khaniara through route marking. Once there, they will be cooking in buddy pairs & sleeping under tarps. They will enjoy the wilderness & open skies to the fullest & return tomorrow. All the kids are doing good.

D6 - Dharamshala Day 3
Yesterday afternoon, the rains kept at bay & both the groups swapped their morning activities. In the evening, they enjoyed a game of Fall in place.
It was a pleasant morning the kids woke up to. Both groups did Rappelling after a nice hot breakfast. They have had lunch & will soon get into a session of story telling & discussion on how to turn adversity into opportunity. Post that, they will plan for their expedition – a 2 nightout from the campus. All the kids are doing great & enjoying nature.

D6 - Dharamshala Day 2
It started raining yesterday evening. The kids got into the Big Tent in the nick of time. Camp fun was all about high energy & hustle bustle of market place. The rains continued through the night & kids were excited by it.
It's a cloudy morning & the rains have brought down the temperatures. All the children are doing well. Kids are in 2 activity groups & have named themselves Jai Mata Di & Shivas J JMD learnt survival skills like navigation & tent pitching. They practiced navigation on a hike. Shivas took on the high elements ropes course – multivine & tyre traverse – which challenged their concepts of fear & tested their concentration & sense of balance.

Kids are all fine.
This was her 6th Camp!
I have sent my daughter almost every year to a Youreka camp since she was age 9. So this was her 6th camp. She has gone to different locations and I have always been very happy about the arrangements and activities we chose. In this day and age of gadgets and distractions, Youreka is like a breath of fresh air. So many life skills and survival skills are taught. I personally have Youreka to thank for how she has shaped up as a person. Learnt to be independent and open to adventures. Three cheers!
New Story Everyday!
It is almost 4 months now since my daughter attended the J4 2016 at Youreka as a White Star participant. Till today hardly a day goes by without some new story from camp suddenly remembered, or some moment relived!
Went to a Youreka camp 17yrs ago...
I went to a Youreka camp about 17 yrs ago -- and I still remember it as the most positive and fascinating experience of my life at the time. I have camped in other places and countries since -- but heck, I miss the experience which Youreka provided when I was a kid.
"Absolutely amazing n awesome experience my holiday could not have been better than this " This is what my daughter said as soon as she met me .
New level of enthusiasm and confidence!
It gives me immense pleasure to share that the class 11 camp to Kambre has had a different impact on our students and educators. The students have thoroughly enjoyed all the activities they were exposed too. They also shared the interactive sessions which were handled by your team. The exposure provided to them has lifted them to a whole new level of enthusiasm, energy, confidence and attitude.
Wonderful Experience with Youreka. Everything was properly planned. Nice Hospitality, neat and clean place to stay. Tasty Food and amazing Mentors.. Looking forward for many more experience
I found her different, changed and very confident
When I received Meher at the railway station on the 20th of June, I found a different, changed and very confident Meher. There was something different about the way she was carrying herself. Her body language had changed. This very Meher who was so scared of dogs before she went for this trip, was actually getting a stray dog to smell her hand so as to get friendly with it. it took her 3, 4 days to get over the disappointment of coming back from the camp. She has shared so much with us and wants to go back every year. We as parents are very happy and thrilled and wish to thank everybody in The team Youreka for fantabulous work they do. Thanks once again.
